The Superconducting State in Magnetic Fields--Special Topics and New Trends

Research

My areas of interest include theoretical condensed matter physics and theoretical biophysics. I strongly encourage my students to be broad, deep and creative. Breadth of knowledge is very important in today's physics job market, as is expert (deep) knowledge in a particular area. But most of all the development of new directions, never explored before is the dominant component of my research. Most of my interests are in many body aspects of electronic systems including superconductors, ferromagnets, semiconductors and biological systems. Here is a list of my current research activities:

  • Superconductors in High Magnetic Fields.
  • Crossover from BCS to Bose-Einstein Superconductivity.
  • Magnetic Coupling in Ferromagnetic/Superconductor Multilayers.
  • Macroscopic Quantum Phenomena in Ferroelectrics and Ferromagnets.
  • Bose-Einstein Condensation of Excitonic Systems.
  • Quantum Computing with p -SQUIDs.
  • Colossal Magneto Resistance Materials.
  • Quantum Mutations in DNA.
