Research

Prof. Marchenkov's group investigates both fundamental topics in contemporary condensed matter physics, such as superconductivity and interplay between electronic, mechanical, and thermal properties in nanoscale systems, and develops novel sensors and experimental methods and techniques.

This research employs state-of-the-art cryogenic, vacuum, electronic and microfabrication devices and technologies.

Prof. Marchenkov's educational interests are in modernizing the curriculum and the approach to teaching experimental science to both undergraduate and graduate students in physical and biological sciences.
