COPYRIGHT TRANSFER FORM (PDF)

Instructions to Contributors

1. Criteria for publication are interest of the work to theoretical physicists, accuracy and originality of the work, and, particularly for reviews, clarity of exposition. Work at the frontiers of quantum theory is given priority.

2. Submission is a representation that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. A copyright transfer, implicit in the act of submitting a manuscript, is now necessary under the U.S. Copyright Law in order for the publisher
to disseminate scientific communications as effectively as possible. A Copyright Transfer Form may be downloaded from www.physics.gatech.edu/ijtp/, executed, and faxed to IJTP at 404-894-9958.

3. Submit articles online at www.editorialmanager.com/ijtp/ in LaTeX format. The Corresponding Author will be asked to provide a current e-mail address for proofs and to select an Article Type, ordinarily Original research. Authors invited to submit a paper for a special issue should select the article type designating that issue. In case of any difficulty in uploading your manuscript, or to withdraw a paper, please contact jan-peter.uitterlinde@springer-sbm.com.

4. Style: The title begins with a searchable topic word, not with qualifiers like On, A, The, Note, Comments, or Some. The abstract, preferably no longer than 150 words, avoids abbreviations, references, and discussions. It states results concisely, in the present tense, and in direct discourse; not as “In this paper we have shown that Plancks constant is changing” but as “Plancks constant is changing.” Its last line consists of 1 to 5 key words and one to three PACS numbers. Key words express the precise content of the manuscript, and are used for indexing purposes. For PACS numbers see http://publish.aps.org/PACS/pacsgen.html. Manuscript style should generally follow the American Institute of Physics Style Manual. Upon accepting a manuscript the Editor reserves
the right to make style changes consistent with the overall IJTP style.

5. Numbering: Illustrations are numbered in one consecutive series of Arabic numerals and captioned. Tables are numbered with Roman numerals and cited by number in the text. The title
should be centered above the table, and explanatory footnotes, indicated by superscript lowercase letters, should be located below the table. Footnotes are avoided if possible but when absolutely necessary are numbered consecutively using a separate sequence of Arabic numerals, and cited in the text by the appropriate superscript numeral without parentheses.

6. References are listed alphabetically at the end of the paper. The authors name and year of publication are cited in the text as in Brown 2000 or Green et al. 2000. References are as complete as possible and avoid abbreviations.

7. The Editors e-mail address is df4@mail.gatech.edu. Books for review should be sent to Editor, International Journal of Theoretical Physics, School of Physics, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA 30332-0439.

8. Correspondence concerning papers that have been accepted for publication and are in the process of publication should be e-mailed to the Managing Editor at maggie.yilmaz@springer-sbm.com. These instructions are available on-line at www.physics.gatech.edu/ijtp/.

9. IJTP makes no page charges. Reprints are available to authors, and order forms with the current price schedule are sent with proofs. Authors receive free internet access to the issue in which their paper appears. Authors are encouraged to post their papers arXiv.org after submission to IJTP.

10. Springer Open Choice. In addition to the normal publication process, granting access to an article to journal-subscribers, Springer now provides an alternative publishing option: Springer Open Choice. A Springer Open Choice article receives all the benefits of regular subscription-based publication, but in addition is made available publicly through Springer’s online platform SpringerLink. To publish via Springer Open Choice, upon acceptance please visit www.springeronline.com/openchoice to complete the relevant order form and provide the required payment information. Payment must be received in full before publication or articles will receive regular subscription-based publication. We regret that Springer Open Choice cannot be ordered after publication.
