PURPOSE: To vividly show a thin film interference pattern
DESCRIPTION: Light from a carbon arc lamp is reflected off a soap film and focused on a wall.
SETUP TIME: Quite awhile. Difficulty factor 7.5 (but will work perfectly once it is set up).
COMPONENT LIST:
- Carbon arc lamp with rail Light Source Area
- Soap Film holder with cart Optics Area
- Water Cell with cart Optics Area
- Slide Projector Lens (mounted) Optics Area (cabinets)
- Soap Solution Optics Area or make fresh
SUGGESTIONS: A bit tricky to set up, but fantastic results.

OTHER NOTES: Water cell must be in place so that film will not break from heat of light. Slide projector lens is used to fancily focus the film onto the wall. Don't forget that the image will be upside down!!
Magic Soap Solution (for soap film that will last): 1 part dish detergent, 2 parts glycerine, 3 parts water.
