3D40.20 Singing Rod

PURPOSE: To demonstrate resonance in a solid bar

DESCRIPTION: An aluminum rod is held at a nodal point (halfway, one third, etc...) and gently stroked to produce wonderful tones.

SUGGESTIONS: Practice is essential to the success of this demonstration. According to Vincent, some people "have the touch" and others don't. Plan on some serious rehearsal time.
