3B10.30 Shive-Type Wave Machine

PURPOSE: To demonstrate Wave motion

DESCRIPTION: We have 2 of these machines. The first is quite large, with the rods spaced approximately 2 inches apart. The second is a table-top version, with rods spaced approximately 0.5cm apart. The tabletop version also provides the user with tension (wave speed) control, optional end terminators (free, damped, closed), as well as a mechanical driver to generate the waves.
