2B30.10 Crush the Can

PURPOSE: to demonstrate the effects of atmospheric pressure in a dramatic way

DESCRIPTION: Boil a small amount of water in a can. Cap securely and remove from heat. As the vapor pressure is reduced by cooling, the can collapses in upon itself.

SETUP TIME: Quite long
