1N20.20 Spring Apart Air Track Gliders

PURPOSE: To demonstrate the conservation of linear momentum

DESCRIPTION: Two air track gliders are put together with a spring inbetween them (which will make them "spring apart"), but held together by a fine (flammable!) string. The air track is turned on to reduce friction. When the string is burned, the two gliders "spring apart".

SETUP TIME: Minimal
