1J30.10 Car Suspended in Air

PURPOSE: Show resolution of forces in an in-class demonstration.

DESCRIPTION: Toy car sits on ramp. Weights are hung from ropes that extend parallel and perpendicular to the ramp through the center of mass of the toy car. When the weights are adjusted correctly, the ramp may be removed and the car stays in position.

SETUP TIME: 10 minutes.
