Welcome to Physics’ web site! You are a member of the elite group of individuals who received a degree in Physics from Georgia Tech.
The School of Physics continues to play a vital role in the institutional development of Georgia Tech. Currently we have strong groups in atomic, molecular and optical physics, condensed matter physics, and nonlinear dynamics. One of our immediate tasks is to continue the growth of the School. Within the next few years, we plan to strengthen existing research groups by hiring faculty members who “define the field.” We will further identify one or two more areas for expansion, including building a biophysics program.

The School is building a solid reputation in science, teaching, and research; and must continue to attract the best and the brightest faculty and students, and to hold our place at the leading edge of discoveries.
