PHYS 2211 K-INTRO. PHYSICS II (Matter & Interactions version)
Registering your PRS transmitter
Class participation and attendance will be monitored through a series of in-class mini-quizzes and polling-type questions. Data will be collected via an infrared Personal Response System (PRS), and displayed graphically in real time.
In order to participate in this response system, each student will be required to purchase a PRS transmitter from the bookstore. Each transmitter is hard-wired with a unique ID code, which will be used by the system to identify each student's input.
Once you have purchased your transmitter, you will need to register your transmitter code with your appropriate section of PHYS 2212. Please note that you must register your ID code with your own lecture section.
Once you have purchased you transmitter unit, you may register it for this class the PRS Registration Page.
- Enter your GT user id (e.g. gte999b) on the first line.
- Select your proper course and section from the drop-down list. (This course will be listed as "phys2212k_sum07_kohlmyer_gole".
- PRS Transmitter ID is the unique code found on the back of your unit.
The deadline for registering your PRS code is Monday, May 21. If you have not registered by that time, your name will not appear on the PRS roster, your class participation scores will not be recorded by the system, and you will begin losing credit for class participation!
DO NOT LOSE YOUR TRANSMITTER! If you should lose your transmitter, you will have to buy a new one (and they don't come cheap!). If this should happen, please notify your instructor as soon as possible to give him your new transmitter ID code.
(Note that this class will require the "old" infrared PRS transmitters. We do not yet support the new RF transmitters.)
